Announcement: The FAST Forum – The central place for discussions, questions and answers on therapy development
When, to whom and about which topic can I seek scientific advice for the gene therapy I am developing? Who can help me formulate a clinical strategy for the orphan drug I am developing? How can I meaningfully involve patients in my research and connect with them? What is an early HTA and why is it important? These are some of the questions FAST gets asked from the field.
To unlock the answers to such questions and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, FAST is developing the FAST Forum. This will be a central place where innovators, from academia, start-ups, companies, patient representatives and other field parties, can interact, exchange knowledge and expertise on therapy development. In the fields of drug repurposing, rare diseases, radiopharmaceuticals, infectious diseases and ATMPs (the FAST themes), you can stay abreast of what is going on.
What is the FAST Forum?
The drug development process brings many opportunities, but also complexity. In the development from idea to a product for the patient, parties are regularly confronted with regulatory, financing and research issues. To better support them, FAST is developing this central, accessible place where knowledge and experience from the field come together.
Goals of the FAST Forum:
Create a central place for knowledge exchange and unlocking expertise where ideas, questions and answers from the field come together.
- To guide first-time innovators through the therapy development process so that they can set concrete goals and develop development plans.
- Support innovators in the next steps in their development process.
- Identify bottlenecks and explore joint solutions
- Provide an overview of events, workshops and educational opportunities in the field of therapy development.
Status and future plans
The FAST Forum is currently under development and being tested by pilot users. The Forum is expected to be opened to a broader audience in early 2025. Keep up to date with progress via fast.nl and soon be part of an innovative network working together on the future of therapy development!
