Online information session Lead4Life

On Wednesday afternoon, March 4th, an online information session will take place from 15:30 to 17:00 about the Health~Holland PPS programme Lead4Life. During this information session, further explanation will be provided on the objectives and themes of the programme, as well as the planning towards the KWF call for proposals that will be opened later this year. The aim of the Lead4Life programme is the development of a reliable and scalable production technology for the non‑exclusive supply of the medical isotope lead‑212, as well as the  enabling technologies that will make its clinical application possible.

Whether you want to play an active role in the development of the medical isotope lead‑212 or are simply curious to learn more, you are very welcome to join this meeting.

During the information session, more information will be provided about:

  • the objectives, research questions, and scope of the Lead4Life programme;
  • an explanation of the matchmaking process and planning of the call for proposals;
  • the Health~Holland conditions for public‑private partnerships;
  • the valorisation support offered to the PPS collaboration projects.

After the introduction, we will split into subgroups. These subgroups will focus on the following themes:

Lead Production & Supply Chain

For example:

  • Production processes for Ra‑224 and Th‑228 as starting materials for Pb‑212 generators
  • Development of Pb‑212 generators

Enabling technologies for clinical introduction of lead212

For example:

  • Next‑generation chelators for Pb‑212 (radio‑)bioconjugates;
  • Radiobiology;
  • Imaging, dosimetry & pharmacokinetic modelling for Pb‑212;
  • Quality control, analytical methods & safety framework for Pb‑212 distribution;
  • Network and ecosystem for Pb‑212 generators;
  • Hospital infrastructure, radiation protection & waste management.

The information session is also intended as the starting point of the matchmaking process. You will gain insight into which parties are interested in the Lead4Life programme and where potential complementarities lie. This allows you to assess whether your project idea fits within the programme and explore with which partners you might want to form a  consortium to jointly develop a strong PPS project proposal for the call. As a follow-up, a live meeting will be organized on April 8th, where these ideas can be further refined.
