REpurposing MEDIcines For All (REMEDI4ALL)

Back to overview
Drug repurposing

Challenge: Advancing new therapeutic possibilities of existing medicines in areas with insufficient treatment options.

Objective: This international 5-year initiative, funded by the European Commission and led by EATRIS (European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine), involves 24 European partners. The aim is to build a sustainable European innovation platform to improve drug repurposing for everyone. The platform will integrate scientific, methodological, financial, legal, regulatory, and intellectual property aspects into a targeted, patient-centered approach. REMEDI4ALL will support both non-profit and for-profit sectors, develop four repurposing products, and use Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify new potential products. It will also facilitate global policy and access, and train new generations in repurposing tools and processes.

Project Status: Duration 2022-2027

Executor(s): REMEDI4ALL consortium led by EATRIS

Partners: ZonMw, EATRIS

Role of FAST: FAST is a partner of REMEDI4ALL, supporting ZonMw in executing the work package focused on a funders forum.
